1. Takeable
Terms of use (English)
Takeable is a course-planning tool made by students. It is not an official New York University (NYU) service and is not affiliated with NYU. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to the privacy notice.
What Takeable does
It reads NYU's public course data to show which sections fit your time zone and hours, finds clashes and builds timetables; lists your major's requirements from the NYU Bulletin; shows "protect my GPA" picks from syllabi; offers an AI assistant that answers course questions and reads files you upload; and keeps your cart, timetables and chats in your account. With its own consent, Find classmates shows the nicknames of classmates with the same course in their cart, and swaps emails once both agree (see the privacy notice).
For reference only
Course times, seats, credits, instructors and grading shares may be late or wrong. Albert, the syllabus and your adviser decide; check before you register. The AI assistant's answers come from a language model and can be wrong; they are not academic advice. A "protect my GPA" pick says what a syllabus states (for example the exam share), not that a course is easy, and promises no grade. Takeable is not liable for registration outcomes, grades or other losses from relying on it.
Your account
Use an email you can receive mail at and keep your password safe. If you forget it, you can reset it by email from the sign-in dialog; with an NYU address you can also sign in by a link in an email, with no password. One account per person. You can delete your chats at any time, and delete your whole account and its data yourself in the account panel.
Please don't
Scrape data in bulk, attack or disrupt the service, get around its limits or drive the assistant with scripts; upload files you may not share or that contain other people's private data; upload unlawful, infringing, harassing or harmful content; or pretend to be NYU or someone else. In Find classmates, don't send spam requests or harass other students, and don't use an email you got there for anything but studying together (no ads, no mass mail); reports may close Find classmates for an account. We may limit or end use that breaks these rules and remove the content.
Syllabi you share
When you upload a syllabus in the assistant and confirm sharing it, its grading breakdown (the weights and the quoted lines, at most 2,000 characters, without email addresses or long numbers) is shown to other students as evidence for "protect my GPA", without your identity. Share only syllabi you may share; you confirm before anything is shared.
Changes
Takeable is free and provided as is. Features and limits (such as daily assistant use) may change, and parts such as the assistant may be paused. New versions of these terms get a new version number; important changes are announced on the site, and you may be asked to agree again.
